The Freezone of Las Vegas will be hosting their 3rd annual “Stonewall riot night” weekend on June 25-26th.
Stonewall Riot weekend at Freezone (June 25-26th)
Be sure to catch the “What a Drag!” show as we will be doing a “Stonewall” theme of emancipation and survival! 10pm @ the Freezone (610 E Naples rd., Las Vegas, NV)

The Stonewall riots were a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations against a police raid that took place in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969 at the Stonewall Inn, in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City. They are frequently cited as the first instance in American history when gays and lesbians fought back against a government-sponsored system that persecuted homosexuals, and they have become the defining event that marked the start of the gay rights movement in the United States and around the world.
After the Stonewall riots, gays and lesbians in New York City faced gender, class, and generational obstacles to becoming a cohesive community. Within six months, two gay activist organizations were formed in New York, concentrating on confrontational tactics, and three newspapers were established to promote rights for gays and lesbians. Within a few years, gay rights organizations were founded across the U.S. and the world. On June 28, 1970, the first Gay Pride marches took place in Los Angeles and New York commemorating the anniversary of the riots. Similar marches were organized in other cities; today Gay Pride events are held annually throughout the world toward the end of June to mark the Stonewall riots.

kirstiealley
Kirstie Alley, former television beauty on the show “Cheers”, has launched her new television show on A&E entitled, “Kirstie Alley’s Big Life”. Since Kirstie’s amazing transformation into Jabba the Hutt she has found that acting job offers have dried up. In a ploy to show the country that she is still alive, though barely, and that she is still a relevant person in Hollywood and deserves another chance, she has launched her “reality” show. The problem is that it is a scripted “reality” show …. and Ms Alley isn’t exactly winning an Emmy for her level of acting prowess on said show.
Way to go Kirstie! Not only are you the size of the Hollywood sign in a town that thinks that a size 4 is unheard of, but you’re also reminding everyone that you can’t act …
… side note: Kirstie Alley made her movie debut in the film “Star Trek 2″, she played a Vulcan. She is now fit to return to Star Trek as a planet!

The TLC network will air Sarah Palin’s eight-part series about her home state of Alaska, entitled, “Sarah Palin’s Alaska”. I can’t wait to see her loafing on a couch, shotgun in hand, pontificating abortion while swilling her wine coolers!
